sunday morning church

I had church this morning at one of my favorite places... Starbucks! It was a very nice, refreshing start to my day. I really enjoy going there Sunday mornings to have Jesus time and of course drink my light white mocha frap with no whip. I am almost finished with my book Wide Awake and will hopefully be moving on to The Raggamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning recommended to me by the greatest Youth Pastor! The more I think about it... I realize that Starbucks and books definitely help my world go round.

Brother's Soccer Begins!

Soccer is the family hobby. I always look forward to Caleb's seasons, although I haven't been to many games in the past. This year will be different! He is one awesome player. I am so proud of him and his smooth, studly skills! Caleb mostly plays fullback, for all those who are not soccer savy, that is defense. Today was Caleb's first two games with his new team. His coach is wonderful. He played professionally for twelve years in Germany and his coaching style is one that is going to be very helpful and challenging for Caleb. It is going to be a great few seasons to come! Two more games tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Day with Heather


I had so much fun yesterday morning with my great friend, Heather. For my birthday, She took me out for breakfast at Bread Co. and then surprised me by taking me to the Botanical Gardens. We walked around the gardens and talked. I had fun being with her and everything was very beautiful. We both, of course, forgot our cameras so I had to be a little creative with the picture!

school.



I am back to school! Yes, I am a large and in charge SENIOR this year! The first day was this past Monday. Can't believe I had my last first day of High School. It was a very good beginning week. My schedule looks like one that just dropped out of heaven!! I do have to stay for all seven periods during the day, but my classes are fun with great teachers. The most challenging class, as I have already mentioned previously, is my AP English class. Aside from that, I have Spanish 4, Bible, FOODS, Microsoft Applications, Independent Psychology, and Study Hall! My schoolday goes by pretty quickly. After school, however, I have work. I work every week day except Wednesday after school till about 6:30 and don't get home till about 7:00. It doesn't sound bad, but it has definitely taken a toll on me. When i get home, I eat dinner, do homework, maybe read or work out, then head to bed! I'm usually worn out by the end of my day, and it has only been one week! Inspite of my wearines, there are a few things I am looking forward to this year. First of which is my little brother, Caleb, coming to school with me! He is a big 7th grader this year. I have the privelege of driving him to school everyday. I'm trying to treasure the time I have with him before I go off to college next year. It's not hard to spend time with him cause he's such an awesome kid! Another something I am excited about this year is getting close with my Senior class and enjoying all of the perks of being the top dog. We have already parked our cars in "forbidden" areas of school and have had bbq's and parties! Since my schedule has been insane, I have been trying to figure in ways to be able to read (non-school books) and to exercise with my busy day. All I have come up with so far is to wake up at 5:00 AM and do one of the two. We'll see how long it will last!

BOOKS! I feel like they will be the main thing on my plate for the coming few months.


Over the summer, I was given the oh-so-great challenge of completing a summer reading project by my English teacher. After finishing at least half of the book, I indulged right into the journal project and decided to skim-read the rest of the book. "Le Morte d' Arthur" was interesting but mostly just repetative. I do believe, however, it was good to read it. So many movies and other books are spinned off the story; it was nice to learn the actual truth of the legend.


The other half of my summer reading project is not due for another week and a half. This book is the famous "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley. Tomorrow is my first attempt at it. Before I even pick up the glorious piece of literature, I will need to write three essays explaining various topics of the French Revolution. While I read the book, I will be keeping a jounal explaining how my research has helped my understanding and also keep track of significant events in it.




This fantastic learning experience can be accredited to my AP English class! Yes, I am using a bit of a sarcastic tone; however, I am excited about the class. My teacher is Mrs. Grube. She is one absolutely wonderful lady. All the great things I have heard about her class can be equally measured to all of the hard things I have heard about her class. But when I get to the bottom of it, I enjoy reading and writing so this class is the perfect opportunity to stretch myself.






I'm Back!

It has been a crazy last few weeks! Lost my camera cable that connects to my computer; hopefully I will get a new one soon and then be able to share my pictures! But in the mean time, I'll find some nice substitutes as I fill you in on what has been going on lately. I have a lot to share. Hopefully you won't feel too overwhelmed!
